  • With Vianeo, ENGIE is launching a new brand for powerful and reliable electric e-charging infrastructure to Germany - with a clear focus on heavy goods vehicles.

  • ENGIE Vianeo already operates around 9,000 charging points across Europe; this figure is set to rise to 25,000 by 2030, including 1,500 specifically for electric commercial vehicles geared towards the needs of the logistics sector.

  • Successful projects in France - such as the first fast-charging corridor for e-trucks between Lyon and Paris - serve as a model for the German market entry.

Cologne – With ENGIE Vianeo, ENGIE is bringing a strong brand for e-charging infrastructure to Germany - with a clear focus on heavy goods traffic. As a subsidiary brand of the ENGIE Group, ENGIE Vianeo stands for powerful, reliable and transparent charging solutions that actively shape the transition to climate-friendly mobility.

ENGIE Vianeo already operates almost 9,000 charging points in Europe - 800 of them on French highways and around 5,000 in Belgium. By 2030, the aim is to have 25,000 charging points, 1,500 of which will be specifically on European corridors for commercial vehicles. The brand relies on 100% renewable electricity and combines fast and ultra-fast charging infrastructure with a user-friendly digital ecosystem. ENGIE Vianeo plans, builds and operates the charging infrastructure and assumes the financial risk of the investment. Partners and landowners therefore bear no investment costs for upgrading the property.

Focus on heavy loads: successful projects from France

ENGIE Vianeo is a pioneer in the development of charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles, particularly for heavy goods vehicles. The company has implemented the first fast-charging network for electric trucks on the Lyon-Paris route and is developing a 900-kilometre corridor from Avignon to Paris as part of the European ECTN alliance. 900-kilometer corridor from Avignon to Lille as part of the European ECTN Alliance.

With its market entry in Germany, ENGIE Vianeo is also contributing its experience from various successful projects in France, including:

  • Dardilly (Lyon metropolitan region): A new multi-energy station combines BioGNC and 400 kW ultra-fast chargers for all types of vehicles - from light commercial vehicles to 44-ton articulated lorries. The system is supplemented by a photovoltaic system for self-supply of electricity. The station is open around the clock and is strategically located on the M6 near the Lyon environmental zone.

  • La Galande (near Paris): Together with the freeway operator APRR, ENGIE Vianeo has implemented the first European fast-charging corridor for e-trucks between Lyon and Paris. Five stations with 480 kW charging power enable a range of 300 km in just 45 minutes - with two parallel charging points per station. The project avoids up to 4,000 tons of CO₂ every year and shows that e-mobility also works in long-distance transport.

  • Sommesous (Marne): As part of the European ECTN alliance, the first station of a 900 km long e-truck corridor between Avignon and Lille was opened here. The concept is based on a relay principle: drivers change at stations while the vehicles are being charged. This saves time, improves working conditions and reduces emissions by up to 60 percent compared to diesel transportation.

Germany at a glance: ENGIE and the holistic mobility transition

By entering the German market, ENGIE Vianeo aims to drive forward the electrification of heavy goods transport in a targeted manner. Experience from France shows: An efficient, reliable and transparent charging network is the key to acceptance among hauliers and drivers. ENGIE Vianeo not only provides the technology for this, but also a well thought-out operating concept.

In addition to the new ENGIE Vianeo brand, ENGIE Germany has already been offering customized charging infrastructure solutions for industry, commerce and the real estate sector for several years under the established "e-buddie" brand - from planning and construction to operation and billing. Together, the two brands form ENGIE's strong e-mobility offering in Germany.
