Building services for nuclear power plants

We are your partner for building technology in the dismantling of nuclear and radiation-protected systems.

ENGIE Deutschland is a specialist for complex supply and disposal systems in nuclear power plants. We concentrate our know-how particularly on the dismantling of nuclear power plants and their ancillary facilities and offer you engineering, execution and commissioning as well as all downstream maintenance work from a single source: on time, cost-transparent and responsible.

Trades we excel at:

  • Ventilation
  • Electrical engineering
  • Fire protection technology and sprinkler systems
  • Heating engineering
  • Industrial sanitary engineering
  • Building automation (measurement and control technology)
  • Process engineering: Water (supply and disposal technology), compressed air
  • Refrigeration technology

Our promise: Highest quality and sound technical knowledge

There is no experimentation when handling radioactive substances: Rely on our certified quality standards and the expertise of international specialists.

Our engineers and technicians are always looking for the latest technologies and applications for our customers. In addition, we can access the worldwide know-how of the ENGIE Group and share our experiences. Any decision for or against a particular procedure, component or material is made under one premise: to ensure sustainable quality for our customers.

Robust design and reliable, efficient operation characterize every system installed by ENGIE in all areas of technical building equipment. We not only claim this, but document it with quality standards according to ISO9001:2015, KTA1401, IAEA 50-C-Q, AGFW601/FW1, DVGW GW301 and extensive certificates and approvals, which we regularly obtain.

Welding technology from the specialist

ENGIE is a welding specialist in compliance with DIN EN 3834-3 and has the required expertise for the stringent requirements on statics, seismology and compressive strength of the welding joining process in pipeline construction for nuclear power plants. Our welding engineers, welding specialists and TÜV-tested and -supervised welders are responsible for the continuous development of welding technology.

Trust is good. Certification is better.

Refrigeration for the highest demands

When your own company's refrigeration specialists are among the best in the world, access to exclusive expertise is particularly easy. Our subsidiary ENGIE Refrigeration has a solution for every cooling need - including the sensitive areas of nuclear power plants and their decommissioning: Our chillers provide cooling, for example, for the air conditioning of the control room and the air conditioning of the substations of the reactor safety system, as well as for the heat exchange of the radioactive waste gas treatment plants and the cooling water degassing plants.

All ENGIE cooling systems for nuclear power plants are custom designed and manufactured according to high safety standards. The chillers are based on magnet-mounted QUANTUM, turbo or screw compressor technology, depending on requirements, and can cover any cooling requirement efficiently, sustainably and particularly reliably with a cooling output of 300 kW up to over 5 MW; Both water- and air-cooled solutions are available in all variants.

Our versatile chillers are also used in the non-safety-relevant areas of a nuclear power plant. The magnetic-bearing and oil-free turbo compressor technology of our chillers is particularly low-vibration as well as fail-safe and virtually maintenance-free.

Operationally reliable in accordance with international standards

Refrigeration technology from ENGIE meets the most stringent requirements for operational safety after earthquakes, explosive pressure waves and specific system malfunctions.

It is qualified  in compliance with various national and international standards (YVL, KTA, RCC, ASME and IEEE).

Your advantages with ENGIE cooling technology:

  • Maximum energy efficiency
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Quiet start
  • Low noise and low vibration operation
  • Reliability
