  • ENGIE Vianeo will build two new charging parks for electric heavy-duty vehicles at the Euro Rastpark locations in Lippetal/Hamm (A2) and Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen (A9), both situated along two major freight transport corridors

  • As the ENGIE Group’s dedicated brand for e-charging infrastructure, ENGIE Vianeo is responsible for the planning, investment, construction, and operation of both locations

  • With these first joint charging parks, ENGIE Vianeo and Euro Rastpark are launching a partnership that envisions additional locations

Cologne – ENGIE Vianeo is accelerating the expansion of its German truck charging network along TEN-T corridors on the A2 and A9 highways. New charging parks for electric heavy-duty vehicles are being built at two Euro Rastpark locations in Lippetal/Hamm and Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen. The facility in Lippetal/Hamm is located directly on the A2, one of the most important east-west freight corridors between the Ruhr region and Berlin. Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen is situated on the route that connects key European north-south logistics flows through Germany toward Munich, Austria, and Italy. Johannes Witt, Managing Director at Euro Rastpark, says: “With 18 truck stops, Euro Rastpark is an essential part of Germany’s transportation infrastructure. We are pleased to be working with ENGIE Vianeo as a competent partner to implement charging solutions for electric heavy-duty transport.” At the Euro Rastpark Lippetal/Hamm, which has over 215 truck parking spaces, ENGIE Vianeo will install six 400-kilowatt charging points and two 1,000-kilowatt MCS (Megawatt Charging System) chargers by July 2027. At the Euro Rastpark Pfaffenhofen/Schweitenkirchen, which currently handles approximately 13,500 trucks per day and offers attractive amenities for professional drivers, six 400-kilowatt charging points will go online starting in January 2027.

A reliable location model with no investment costs for Euro Rastpark

ENGIE Vianeo is fully responsible for investment, construction, and operations at both locations and benefits from the infrastructure and prime locations of the Euro Rastparks. Euro Rastpark, on the other hand, benefits from long-term revenue without making any direct investment of its own and strengthens its position by adding another service offering. Jan-Niklas Ellerich, Managing Director of ENGIE Vianeo in Germany, says: “At ENGIE Vianeo, we offer the logistics industry a comprehensive concept for its mobility transition, from reservation systems to attractive volume contracts for its charging needs. Together with Euro Rastpark, we are advancing the charging infrastructure for electric trucks along key German freight transport corridors and, by using 100 percent green electricity from renewable energy sources, are contributing to the energy transition.” ENGIE Vianeo launched on the German market in July 2025. In addition to a project on sustainable mobility in heavy-duty transport with the Port of Kiel, the company is currently responsible, on behalf of the federal government and Autobahn GmbH, for building one of the largest fast-charging networks for trucks in Germany. In total, ENGIE Vianeo is currently developing charging infrastructure specifically for commercial vehicles at around 50 locations in Germany.
