  • ENGIE Vianeo is building truck charging stations at two 24-Autohöfe locations: the
24-Autohöfe Homberg (Efze) and the 24-Autohöfe Gramschatzer Wald; both locations are situated along the north-south A7 corridor, a key section of the Scandinavian-Mediterranean TEN-T corridor

  • As the ENGIE Group’s dedicated brand for electric mobility, ENGIE Vianeo is responsible for the entire operating model, from investment and construction to day-to-day operations

  • The project lays the foundation for additional ENGIE Vianeo charging parks at 24-Autohof locations along key European transportation corridors

Cologne – ENGIE Vianeo is expanding its German truck charging network along the A7 highway. Two charging parks for electric heavy-duty vehicles are being built at locations within the 24 truck stops along the A7. The A7 is one of the most important north-south corridors for German freight transport and is part of the Scandinavian-Mediterranean TEN-T corridor, one of Europe’s key freight transport routes. Roxanne Ruscheinsky, a member of the executive board at 24-Autohöfe, says: “Truck stops are among the most efficient locations for building infrastructure for alternative fuels. They are easily accessible from both directions of the highway and the surrounding region, and combine charging stops with dining, services, and a high quality of stay. That’s why we’re pleased to be working with ENGIE Vianeo to expand our offerings to include high-performance and reliable charging infrastructure for electric trucks.” Every day, more than 2,000 truck drivers across Germany find secure parking areas at the 24-Autohöfe locations. At the 24-Autohof Homberg (Efze) rest stop—located at the bottleneck of the A7 near Kassel—ENGIE Vianeo plans to commission three 400-kilowatt charging points and one MCS (Megawatt Charging System) charger with 1,000 kilowatts in the spring of 2027. With the central transshipment warehouse of the European freight forwarding network ELVIS, an Amazon distribution center, and a Palletways logistics hub, the location stands out for its high level of logistics expertise. Also planned for the first half of the year are four 400-kilowatt charging points and a 1,000-kilowatt MCS charger at the 24-Shell Gramschatzer Wald truck stop (A7) near Würzburg. Additional locations along major European transportation corridors are being planned as part of the partnership between ENGIE Vianeo and the 24 truck stops.

One-Stop Operator Model

Jan-Niklas Ellerich, Managing Director of ENGIE Vianeo in Germany, says: “With 24 truck stops, we are establishing our long-term location model along one of Europe’s most important freight transport corridors. Our goal is a seamless charging network along Europe’s central logistics corridors: 25,000 charging points across Europe by 2030, including 1,000 for heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles.” ENGIE Vianeo has been active on the German market since July 2025. Current reference projects include a major project with the Port of Kiel as well as a contract with the German federal government and Autobahn GmbH for the largest truck fast-charging network in Germany. In total, ENGIE Vianeo is currently developing charging infrastructure specifically for commercial vehicles at around 50 locations in Germany.
