Berlin - Eric Stab was elected as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GASAG AG by the Supervisory Board on 1 March 2024. The new election was necessary because the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Manfred Schmitz, stepped down from the Supervisory Board on 29 February 2024.

Eric Stab has held various management positions in the ENGIE Group since 1991. The 54-year-old businessman represents ENGIE in Germany as Country Manager and Chairman of the Board of Management of ENGIE Deutschland AG. He is operationally responsible for ENGIE's Networks and Infrastructure business unit in Germany and, as Managing Director Europe, for the ENGIE Group's European network activities.

"The GASAG Group is one of the leading municipal energy service providers in Germany. As Chairman of the Supervisory Board, I am delighted to be able to help shape the work of GASAG. I am committed to ensuring that it can continue to play its central role as an enabler of the urban energy transition successfully and with a high level of competitiveness in the future and remain a reliable partner in achieving the state of Berlin's climate protection goals. GASAG will make the necessary contributions to the energy transition for its customers, with the aim of being climate-neutral by 2040," said Eric Stab.

Stab particularly thanked the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Manfred Schmitz, for his work in recent years. "Manfred Schmitz has accompanied the fortunes of the company with commitment and played a personal role in the positive development of GASAG during this time." Manfred Schmitz had decided to leave ENGIE Deutschland.
