Alliance for Electric Mobility: ENGIE Deutschland cooperates with Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA)

02 September 2020
  • ENGIE Deutschland and the Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA) want to jointly drive forward the expansion of charging infrastructure at hotel locations

  • Starting immediately, hoteliers can commission an electromobility solution with several modules and use public funding

Cologne/Bonn - ENGIE Deutschland GmbH and the Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA) have founded an alliance for electric mobility: Together, the leading specialist in technology, energy and service and the hotel industry association have developed an integrated solution to make it easier for hoteliers to invest in their own charging infrastructure. The offer is now available throughout Germany. "More and more hotels and restaurants are discovering electric mobility as an important service. Offering guests a charging option for their electric vehicle is a factor for modern service quality. We are responding to this need with our new solution and are therefore actively supporting hoteliers in offering their guests added value," explains Matthias Sommer, Head of Real Estate Sales at ENGIE Deutschland. At the same time, hotel operators benefit from increased visibility on the Internet, as they now appear on the websites of loading station finders.

One-stop e-mobility

The joint electromobility solution is oriented to the special requirements of the hotel industry. It covers all service modules end-to-end and comes from a single source: "We advise, plan and provide the charging infrastructure, install the solution, help with the technical management and integration into hotel operations. We even support billing. This allows hoteliers to concentrate on their core business," explains Matthias Sommer. At each hotel location, the ENGIE Deutschland specialists identify the relevant service modules on site and develop a tailor-made solution; this allows e-mobility to be smoothly integrated into regular hotel operations. They also advise on public subsidies that hoteliers can use – in short: Thanks to the new services offered by ENGIE Deutschland and the Hotelverband Deutschland, hotel operators offer their guests an uncomplicated charging experience and save money.
