Acquisition of 31.6% of Berlin gas supplier GASAG

2001

The SUEZ Group takes over: Sulzer Infra becomes Axima, Sulzer Escher Wyss becomes Axima Refrigeration. Founding of the SaarLorLux energy plant in Saarbrücken (51 % ENGIE, 49 % Stadtwerke Saarbrücken)

2002

Acquisition of 49.9 % of Energieversorgung Gera GmbH and Kraftwerke Gera GmbH (since 2016: 100%)

2008

The GDF and SUEZ groups merge to form the GDF SUEZ Group; one of the largest energy companies in the world is created Acquisition of 33.1% of WSW Energie & Wasser AG in Wuppertal

2009

Axima becomes Cofely, Axima Refrigeration becomes Cofely Refrigeration

2010

Cofely acquires the Bochum energy service provider Proenergy Contracting and strengthens its market position as an energy service provider

2011

Cofely acquires the Saxon engineering company Haus-Technik mbH (IHT)

2013

Founding of TEVARO GmbH as a project development company for onshore wind power

2014

Cofely acquires H.G.S. GmbH & Co. KG, a technical service provider in the field of combined heat and power plants

2016

After GDF SUEZ became ENGIE in 2015, GDF SUEZ and Cofely also introduce the new name in Germany, now operating under the umbrella brand of the ENGIE Group

2018

ENGIE Refrigeration takes over the CO2 high temperature heat pump division from the insolvency estate of Hafner-Muschler

2019

ENGIE acquires Otto Building Technologies GmbH
